Milk Tooth Extraction

When Should Baby Teeth Be Extracted?

Baby teeth begin to fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth between the ages of 6 and 8. This process continues until around age 12.

Baby teeth start to wiggle as the permanent tooth below dissolves the root, and they usually fall out on their own. Sometimes the baby tooth doesn’t wiggle or fall out, and the permanent tooth appears in a different place in the mouth. In this case, the baby tooth needs to be extracted.

How Are Baby Teeth Extracted?

Children’s first experiences at the dentist are very important. Fear of the dentist often stems from a bad experience during childhood. It is better to extract children’s baby teeth after they have had 1-2 sessions to get used to the dentist. Anesthesia is essential to prevent pain during extraction.

Children are particularly afraid of needles and anesthesia. At our clinics, we use digital anesthesia to make tooth extractions easier for children. With the single tooth anesthesia method, abbreviated as STA, the anesthetic is applied with a small tip, like a pen, without an injector, reducing the child’s anxiety and making the extraction easy to perform.
